Should You Get a Spray Tan Before Your Wedding Day?

Bombshell 7 Bride with spray tan on wedding day.

"Should I get a spray tan before my wedding?" It's one of the questions I hear most from brides - and the answer depends on more than just yes or no.

Not all spray tans are the same

At Bombshell 7 Beauty, we don't use a one-size-fits-all solution. Norvell Venetian is our go-to for most brides, but we also work with Nuda and Glazed depending on how you want your tan to develop and how deep you want the color. Want a rapid tan that develops in just a couple of hours? We have a solution for that. Prefer a normal development timeline with a deeper, richer color? We'll choose accordingly. The right formula comes down to your skin, your timeline, and how intense you want the final result to look.

Why we recommend a trial tan before your makeup preview

We encourage every bride to do a trial spray tan before her hair and makeup preview session. This lets you see exactly how your tan wears alongside your makeup - so you can dial in that bronzy, lit-from-within glow before your wedding day, not guess at it for the first time when it counts.

Timing is everything - and it's a window, not just a wait

Plan your spray tan 2-3 days before your wedding, not the night before or day-of. But timing isn't just about waiting long enough to shower - it's also about not leaving the solution on too long. Every solution has a specific development window, and going past it can actually shift your color to the wrong tone rather than deepening it the way you'd expect. We give every bride precise timing guidance for her specific solution, including exactly when to rinse, so the color develops to the shade she wants - not past it.

Sweat is the enemy of an even tan During the development period, avoid anything that makes you sweat - workouts, hot yoga, even excessive hand-washing. Sweat breaks down the solution before it's had a chance to fully set, which can alter how evenly your tan processes and lead to streaking or uneven color.

Don't skip the aftercare

Once your tan has developed, moisturizing matters. A well-hydrated tan looks supple and glowing rather than dry or flaky - and it helps your color last longer and fade more evenly over the following days, right through your wedding.

At Bombshell 7 Beauty, we build your spray tan timing right into your overall bridal beauty schedule - so it's one less thing to plan on your own.
